PS Broadway: Just Getting Started
PS Broadway is a 15-week in-school program that introduces musical theater to fifth grade New York City public school students. This joyful program is provided to their elementary schools at a highly subsidized rate to ensure equitable access to all students.
Every fifth grade student at each participating school takes part in the program led by an RTKids-trained teaching artist and musician, and a Broadway performer presents a private concert and answers questions at the end of each semester.
Each semester is taught around a special theme. Students learn and perform songs from various Broadway shows, and the semester culminates in an incredible final performance for parents, educators, and classmates.
PS Broadway is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. This program is also supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
